Editorial Policy
How LaserPrintGuide guides are researched, written, reviewed and kept up to date.
Purpose and scope
Our guides help beginners and everyday users set up, connect, maintain and troubleshoot laser printers. We publish a smaller number of thorough guides rather than many thin pages, and we don’t create near-duplicate pages by swapping brand or model names. Each guide covers one task or problem from the first step to the point where the manufacturer is the right next contact.
Who writes the guides
Guides are published under the byline “LaserPrintGuide Editorial Team”. We don’t list individual author profiles or claim professional certifications.
Use of AI tools
We use AI writing tools to help outline and draft guides. AI output is never published unreviewed. Every guide is checked for technical accuracy, safety and clarity, and anything that can’t be supported is removed or phrased generally with a pointer to official documentation.
Safety and accuracy standards
- User-level steps only: settings, cables, network setup, drivers from official sources, paper, and the consumable replacement and cleaning that manuals describe as user maintenance. We never describe opening the laser unit or screwed-on covers, touching high-voltage parts, bypassing door switches, refilling cartridges or resetting chips.
- Safety up front: every guide opens with a safety note. Hot fusers, toner dust and unplugging before reaching inside are covered wherever they apply.
- No invented specifics: we don’t make up error codes, light patterns, menu paths, model-specific procedures, page yields, prices or compatibility. Where details vary by model, we say so and point to the manual or the manufacturer’s support site.
- Careful with networks: we don’t assume every printer supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi, WPS or every setup method; we tell readers to check their model.
- No test claims: we don’t test, rate or rank printers, and our buying guides explain concepts rather than declaring winners.
- Honest limits: no guaranteed fixes; every guide says when to contact the manufacturer.
Sources
We rely on printer manufacturers’ official support resources and on Microsoft and Apple support documentation, and list the relevant pages under “Official sources” at the end of each guide. We check that every linked page loads before publishing.
Independence
No company pays to appear in or shape our guides. The site does not currently carry advertising or affiliate links. If that changes, commercial content will be clearly labeled and kept separate from editorial decisions.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows when it was published and when it was last reviewed or updated. If something doesn’t match your printer or looks wrong, email support@laserprintguide.com with the page address, and we will check and correct it.
